The Variety Of Cables And Wires

The electrical wiring industry has expanded to accommodate a wide range of needs, thanks to new inventions and technologies. The basic cable has a pair each of copper or aluminum wires and an outer protective sheath to insulate.

Higher end cables with greater power transmission capacity have multiple insulated wires. These wires are encased using synthetic polymers. The world of wires and gauge cables is vast, but we have grouped them into four segments based on their construction and use. There are four types of cables: coaxial cables, twisted pairs cables, shielded cable and ribbon cables.

Coaxial cables are electric cables that transmit energy and signals to television sets. This type of cable is made with a copper conductor and has four layers of metallic tape or metallic braid as insulation. The entire wire is protected by a jacket to increase its durability. They were originally used to transmit signals to networking computers units.

However, these cables are now used for other purposes. They are flexible and last longer than other cables due to their durability. There are many types of coaxial cables: RG/6, leaky, bi-axial, bi-axial, hardline, semi-rigid, and twin axial.

The Twisted pair cable variety is made up of a series of copper wires that are twisted together to make a single cable. As per the appliance, the number of wires used and the gauge may vary. These wires are better at reducing interference and therefore more efficient for telephone cabling.
